Nigerians have continued to castigate federal lawmakers over their decision to purchase over 300 Special Utility Vehicles, SUVs estimated at about N58billion. In this video by Rahma Oladosu, the anchor of the Economy on the Street programme of the Economic Confidential, Nigerians came hard on the members of the National Assembly for being insensitive on the reality on the ground. The citizens lament that it is irresponsible for elected public officers to prioritize their own comfort and luxury.
They noted that the insensitivity is not only being exhibited by lawmakers but also members of federal executive council, especially Ministers who also ride such exotic cars. Some of the respondents call on the lawmakers to focus on fixing the nation’s economy instead of indulging in the purchase of luxury vehicles.
